All The Sauce is about, well, you guessed it……sauce! So what do I mean by “sauce“? Well Webster’s defines it as “something that adds zest or piquancy”. And what is piquancy? “The quality or state of being agreeably stimulating to the palate“. I like this definition, and I think it sums up what All The Sauce is focused on.
I’m David, and I’m the resident Saucier on this site. I’m based in Cincinnati, Ohio, but my family and I hale from places a bit more exotic. I grew up in and around restaurants, so I know a thing or two about great sauces. The way I see it, if you’re going to eat, eat well! And often the difference between eating, and eating well, comes down to the sauce.
I love cooking, and I especially like to make sauces when I cook. Preparing flavorful sauces does not have to be hard, in fact most sauces are really pretty easy to make. The good news is that most of the hard work has already been done by someone else. If you get to know the basics, and understand what ingredients (sauce starters) you’ll need to keep in your pantry, you’ll be off and running.
Some notes about me:
I’m a big wine enthusiast, and I like pairing wines with food. I’m also a big fan of Slowfood. I prefer to cook from scratch, but I’m not ashamed to admit that there are days when I simply don’t have time. That’s when I rely on sauce starters, or store-bought sauces. But of course I always try to make them better…..er, more agreeably stimulating to my palate.
